The Indiana Department of Health is offering funding to local health departments to support the ongoing COVID-19 response with a focus on schools, Dr. Kris Box, the state’s health commissioner announced last week. The federal dollars, from two CDC grants, will be awarded to local health departments to hire personnel to assist schools with things such as testing, contact tracing, reporting and public health education and guidance, the department said.
